Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition Now Available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
We’re happy to announce that Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition has received an optimization upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Existing owners of Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will get this upgrade completely free, either via Smart Delivery on Xbox Series X or via free download on PlayStation 5.
Here’s what players can expect from this update:
PlayStation 5
On PlayStation 5, Phoenix Point: Behemoth Edition will feature 4K resolution at 60fps, faster loading times, and high-resolution textures. We’ve also implemented support for new Activities and Challenges to track progress around the game and get players back into the action.
When a player saves his progress during a battle he can then see an Activity card and can return to the game straight to the last mission using that Activity card. Additionally, players will see how much of the main story missions they’ve accomplished as relates to each of the factions in the game.
For Challenges, players will be able to compete in three separate Challenges:
Real-Time Speedrun: A real-time timer to see who can beat a campaign the quickest.
Game-Time Speedrun: Tracked against the minimum amount of in-game time.
Grandmaster: Who can strategically use the least Action Points to complete the campaign.
For existing PlayStation owners with Saved Games
If a PS4 player upgrades to the PS5 version on a PS5 system, the PS5 version will auto-detect any existing PS4 saved files and copy (import) them ONCE to the PS5 version of the game.
If a PS4 system player changes systems to a PS5 to play that version, they will either need to copy their PS4 saved games over via USB or PSN+ Cloud. In either scenario, they need to do this before starting and saving a game on PS5 in order for that to work.
If a player wants to reimport PS4 saves (and override PS5 saves, should they have any reason for that) the player has to delete their Phoenix Point PS5 saves from the system menu and relaunch the game. The PS4 saves (if present on PS5 console) would then be reimported to PS5 version of the game on start.
Xbox Series X
On Xbox Series X, players can expect 4K resolution at 50fps, faster loading times, and high-resolution textures. Xbox players can choose between three resolution options: 4K/50fps, 1440p/60fps and 1080p/60fps.
For both PlayStation and Xbox Series X, the upgrade also includes the following fixes:
Fix for GFQA, incorrect naming for wireless controller for Russian and German languages.
“Cinematics” button and correspondent video player feature have been added to the Home Screen of the game – to view in-game cut scenes unlocked by the player.
Other minor tweaks and optimizations:
Some user interfaces have been slightly adjusted
Some localizations and misleading descriptions have been corrected
Fix for the Softlock issue (It is impossible to launch any mission if you have a vehicle on the aircraft) on both platforms
Fix an Xbox control issue (Some buttons stop working after hiring a soldier with a full aircraft if the 'aircraft menu' was opened before)
We are also working finishing testing on the Xbox One versions of this fix. We’ll keep an eye if any issues arise from this update, but we’ll likely not have any new updates until next year when we start to share more details on DLC 5: Chaos Engines.
Thank you all for playing, and wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday!
